The Roc des Boeufs is a distinctive feature, clearly visible from Lake Annecy. On its south face, it has a beautiful rocky ridge, providing an introduction to rock climbing without being high up in the mountains.
A beautiful setting in the heart of the Bauges, with a breathtaking view of Lake Annecy. From Bellecombe en Bauges, we climb up to the Col de la Frasse through woods and mountain pastures to reach the foot of the southern ridge. We set foot on the limestone rock, and quickly poked our heads out of the forest, as the view opened up with a beautiful panorama of the Bauges massif.
A few climbing pitches are scattered along the ridge, which we traverse with a taut rope, until we reach the key pitch of the route: a short step in 5 that can easily be climbed using a sling.
From the summit, we join the footpath which we take to return to our starting point via the Solliet chalets.

You don't need to be a professional climber! This traverse is ideal for motivated hikers who aren't afraid of heights. If you're at ease in the mountains, on via ferrata or on slightly airy paths, you've come to the right place. I'll adapt to your level to make sure the experience is fun and safe.
I look after all the technical equipment: helmet, harness, lanyard, rope, etc.
For your part, plan :
Mountain or trail shoes with good grip
A small rucksack with water, a snack and a windproof jacket
We're off for a great day out in the mountains! Allow around 5 to 6 hours, including breaks. This includes the approach, the traverse of the ridge and the descent to the opposite side. There's no rush, just take your time and enjoy the view!
Mountain weather is a serious matter. In the event of rain, strong winds or thunderstorms, I'll suggest an alternative plan, postpone or cancel the outing for your safety. I'll keep you informed the day before or 48 hours before, depending on the forecast.
If you're looking to extend your enjoyment of the mountains or vary your sensations, you've come to the right place! Here are a few ideas for outdoor activities not far from the Roc des Bœufs:
