You already have some experience of canyoning and are looking for something a little more technical and sporting. You can swim in white water and you're not afraid of heights. You're in good physical condition.
We're moving into more vertical or aquatic canyons, with higher abseils, more dynamic natural slides and swimming sections. Jumps are still not compulsory, but they can be higher.
Good physical condition and a spirit of adventure recommended!
The Alloix waterfall is clearly visible from the Grésivaudan valley. Descending from the Chartreuse plateaux, the canyon is a succession of beautiful abseils. A rope canyon for those who love the thrill of heights!
We start in a hairpin bend, at the level of the return path. After an hour's walk, we reach the old bridge over the stream, which soon becomes our waterfall, and we follow it through the undergrowth before reaching the first obstacle, a 25m vertical drop. The abseils then follow each other fairly quickly, until we reach the beautiful 45m, where we'll certainly be admired by hikers at the foot of the canyon... We can stop the descent there, if there are enough of them... or continue with the abseils that follow each other until the end of the canyon.

No. This canyon is reserved for people who have already done a recall or comfortable on a rope. The route is entirely vertical, with a number of technical descents in a steep setting. If you're just starting out, it's best to aim for a more gradual canyon.
From 12 years oldOnly for young people who are motivated, comfortable with heights and in good physical shape.
Le 45-metre abseil is the key section of the route. An impressive spider's thread descent, sometimes drenched with water, which requires composure and good equipment management.
You have to consider 3 to 4 hours total: equipment, approach walk (short), descent of the canyon and return included.
Yes, you have to be at ease in the water. Although the Alloix is above all a dry canyon with little water, a few basins require you to swim a few metres.
What to bring :
From closed-toe sports or hiking shoes,
A swimming costume to be worn under the suit,
A towel and spare clothes.
The rest (neoprene wetsuit, helmet, harness, descender...) is provided.
If this experience goes well, we can envisage descending the Pussy canyon, with an even longer vertical. This is a canyon for experienced climbers only.
If you're looking for a change of style and want to explore a canyon with jumps and slides, the short but very fun Ternèze canyon is the perfect choice and can be done in the same day with an efficient group.
