You are comfortable in this environment, have practised several times, and are proficient with your equipment. You have good stamina, are a strong swimmer, agile, capable of remaining calm under pressure, and can operate within a group.
We descend into narrow, long, and technical canyons, with large vertical abseils (up to 40m or more), mandatory jumps, siphons, fast slides, and technical passages in turbulent water. The day can be intense with approach and exit hikes.
The Pussy canyon is an iconic vertical descent in Tarentaise, located between Albertville and Moûtiers. Shorter than some of the big Alpine canyons, it offers a wild and airy atmosphere with a spectacular final section: a 60-meter waterfall plunging directly towards the valley.
The first part of the canyon allows for a progressive descent with a succession of small abseils in a pleasant gorge. This more accessible section allows you to get your bearings before reaching a possible escape route.
Beyond this, the canyon changes character. The route narrows and leads towards the large final waterfall, visible from the road connecting Albertville to Moûtiers. Access to the belay is via a short abseil which brings you above the void, before reaching a suspended belay offering a particularly airy abseil start.
This setup requires a good command of rope progression techniques and a certain comfort with heights. The organisation of the belay station and the management of this large vertical descent also necessitate limiting group sizes to ensure smooth and safe progression.
The Pussy canyon is therefore aimed at experienced practitioners, comfortable with abseiling and looking for a memorable vertical experience in the Tarentaise region.

The Pussy Canyon requires prior canyoning experience. You must be comfortable with abseiling, rope progression and not suffer from vertigo, particularly for the approach and the start of the final large waterfall.
The final 60-metre waterfall is the iconic passage of the canyon. Its access via a short abseil to a suspended belay and its start in the void give it a particularly airy character. This vertical descent requires good mastery of rope techniques and a certain comfort with heights.
In its full version, no. However, the first part does, with an escape route halfway through.
For the descent, the final large vertical abseil requires good technical and mental ease. This canyon is intended for practitioners with prior canyoning experience.
The configuration of the large final waterfall requires precise organisation. The suspended abseil and the length of the descent necessitate limiting group size to maintain comfort and safety.
The Pussy canyon is located in Tarentaise, between Albertville and Moûtiers, in an area easily accessible from Chambéry and the valley resorts.
